Inside Makayla’s Mind: The Meridian Collection.
There are moments in life that feel like pure fate. Moments when paths cross at just the right time, when choices - whether big or small - lead us to something, or more importantly, to someone, we were always meant to find.
As someone who has spent years designing moissanite and lab-diamond engagement rings, I’ve heard countless love stories, each one beautifully unique. Some couples meet at a time when neither is ready, only to find their way back to each other years later. One special couple that comes to mind, is Debbie and Steve. Highschool sweethearts who parted ways, only to reconnect years later. I had the privilege of gifting them their engagement ring as part of our Casting Call in 2022. Other couples may fall in love instantly, as if the universe had planned it all along. Time and time again, I’ve seen how love is rarely linear—it twists, it turns, but it always finds its way home.
And that’s exactly what inspired The Meridian Collection.
Where Inspiration Meets Fate
When I first started designing this collection, I found myself thinking about the invisible forces that shape our lives — the way paths cross and realign, how we move through life separately until suddenly, there’s a moment of perfect alignment. That single moment that changes everything.
I felt this deeply in my own love story with Tom. Looking back, it’s easy to see how each choice, each turn, each seemingly small decision brought us to where we are now. The same is true for so many of the couples we’ve had the privilege of working with at TMC. Love is rarely predictable, but somehow, it always aligns exactly as it should.
With this in mind, I wanted to create an engagement ring collection that embodied that sense of movement, balance, and connection.
A Bold Statement of Love
Drawing inspiration from our beloved Maya ring designs, The Meridian Collection takes that same sculptural elegance and bold presence but reimagines it through the lens of fate and alignment.
Each moissanite and lab-grown diamond engagement ring in this collection is designed with two distinct orientations:
The Elise Ring: North-South - Poised, timeless, a reflection of unwavering strength. A love that stands tall, grounded, and certain.
The Aleasa Ring: East-West - Bold, unconventional, a symbol of confidence and movement. A love that moves, evolves, and defies expectation.
These orientations represent the different ways love finds us—sometimes direct, sometimes unexpected, but always meaningful. And as bold engagement rings continue to define our era, I wanted these designs to feel both striking and deeply personal—rings that tell a story as unique as the love they symbolise.
